I wanted a fitness tracker but didn't want something I would need to charge everyday adding to my battery anxiety. I also wanted something that looked like a stylish watch, not a nerdy device.
The Withings Activité Steel was perfect. It has virtually never left my wrist. The only time I take it off is to give it a rinse off if I've been working out and been sweaty. No problems swimming with it. Leave it on when I shower. This also proves how well made this watch is as I've knocked it about quite a lot and it is still working all these months down the track. The battery lasts me 7-9 months.
The most insightful data I get from the watch and the Withings HealthMate ecosystem is my sleep monitoring. It gave me a real honest insight into how poorly I was sleeping before. It also made me aware of how I needed to get more active as I was well under my activity target. The Withings ecosystem is comprehensive. I also have the the Withings BPM which is very convenient to use to help me manage my low blood pressure. All the measurements and data just feed into Health Mate and in turn feed into Apple Health.
